Ampla’s banking accounts offer free domestic wire transfers and ACHs via the Ampla platform.
Sending a standard wire or ACH
In the top right corner of the home and banking tabs you will see a drop down to “move money”. From this drop down select “Send Payment” to initiate a Wire or ACH.
Source and recipient page:
Once selected you will be prompted to choose the account the money will be coming from (Your Ampla Checking or Reserve account, or your Line of Credit), as well as the recipient of the wire or ACH. If this is a net new recipient who you have not sent money from Ampla before, you can add the recipient at this time by selecting the ‘+ New recipient’ option, and inputting their contact and routing information.
Payment details page:
This page will allow you to designate the following with the payment:
- The amount
- The scheduled date for the payment
- The method (ACH or Wire)
- A memo - for reference for you as well as the recipient
Please note, if you are sending from your line of credit you will only be able to send the funds as an ACH, and you will only be able to send the money on funding dates. For more information about scheduled funding dates, reference this article concerning funding scheduling.
Review:
This page will allow you to review the payment information and recipient information before confirming the payment.
When will my wire or ACH be delivered?
Wires:
Wires are processed and sent twice daily from Ampla.
For Blue Ridge Bank clients:
Wires are processed at 1:00 PM and 4:45 PM ET every business day.
For Thread banking clients:
Wires are processed at 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM ET every business day.
If your wire was submitted before the cut off times it will be posted the same business day, however, if it was submitted after the cut off times, it will not be sent and posted until the next business day.
ACHs:
ACHs are processed daily at 3:00 PM ET. Once an ACH is initiated and processed it will not be posted until the following business day. If an ACH is not submitted till after the cut off time it will not be processed until the following business day.
While the money will be sent and posted from Ampla per the above timelines, there will often be an additional delay with the recipient bank reflecting the wire or ACH, so please be aware it might take an additional day to be reflected in the recipient account.
FAQs:
Why did my ACH or wire get returned to my account?
There are numerous reasons why an ACH or wire transfer would be rejected and sent back to your banking account. The most common reasons we see are the following:
- The routing number or account number were input incorrectly.
- A wire of ACH was sent to an incompatible account for that method of money transfer
- The recipient of the transfer is an international account, and this was sent as a standard domestic wire or ACH
If you would like more information as to why a wire or ACH was returned, please feel free to reach out to the Ampla support team for more information.
How do I send an international wire?
International wires are sent via an alternate process in Ampla. For more information on how to send an international wire, please reference this article {Link to international wire article}
Do you offer same day wires?
Wires sent before our daily but off times will be posted to the receiving account the same day they are sent. That being said there will often be an additional delay with the recipient bank reflecting the wire, so please be aware it might take an additional day to be reflected in the recipient account.
Why did I receive a text message from Ampla asking to verify a wire?
Ampla uses this authentication method to verify select transactions. When this occurs you will receive a text message from our banking operations team to validate the wire. If you have any questions regarding these messages, please reach out to the Ampla support team.
